Perfect Birthday Weekend Away

Well, it was Pranvera's bday so we decided to do it in style in Front Royal Virgina in a cabin about 2 hours outside of DC way up in the hills. We had perfect weather and most importantly perfect friends Steve, Maura and Bella to hang for the weekend.

Our 4 hour hike on the Appalachian trail, hot tubing, BBQ salmon, Fireplace, mountain bike ride, walk to a lake, fresh omelet brunch and a lot of laughing was the perfect celebration. Not to mention many presents, songs and bday cake.

Christmas with the Kirkbride's

Well this year Adi actually appreciated what was inside the colorful packaging and boxes he was opening and to say the least it was a Thomas the Train Xmas. From clothes to trains to floating tub toys to a train cake. Grammy and Grandpa Kirkbride also joined in the fun and we visited with other friends (the Ritter/Bartletts) over the holiday.

We also paid our second visit to the train display at both the National Botanical Garden and the trains around the (tiny) White House Christmas Tree.
