First Week of Mami Rrushe

Pranvera's Mom finally arrived and has already been such a relief that we have headed out to see 2 movies and catch a date night of drinks and seeing what the kids are wearing and doing at the 'hip' places around the city. But we have been getting some 'home' cookin and another set of hands for 6 weeks as Pranvera heads back to work after being out for 3 months. Will be a challenge and change in schedule for us all but at least we have an option to get family to help us until we get Adrian into daycare some time this summer. We very much enjoyed the reunion and opening all the wonderful gifts from family back home.

Meanwhile Pranvera has really enjoyed catching up with family and home. We have been showing 'mami' DC and enjoying the great weather by visiting the fish market, walking the boat docks on the Potomac, heading to Hayes Point for an afternoon of walking with him as Pranver and I rode around the peninsula so she could practice with her new bike. Summer is definitely already in the air and everyone is out and about, including us. We are already BBQing some of our meals and the ladies are enjoying a morning coffee up on the rooftop. We spent another day riding around Rock Creek Park practicing again and seeing Pranvera return to being a kid again herself.

Pranvera's 39th Celebration

One year older and perhaps wiser. Thanks to my wonderful and thoughtful husband and my little bundle of joy Adrian, I had a wonderful day. I woke up to find a beautiful bouquet of red roses in the living room with a wonderful birthday card. After playing and having quality time with Adrian, we ventured outside to enjoy warm day in DC and company of dear friends.

In the late afternoon I was waiting for Todd, who left me with a mysterious message, be ready to leave the house by 5;40. Obviously that is easier sad than done, as Adrian decided to puke on me at least three times, needles to say when Todd got home i was neither ready nor prepared to go out. Change of plans, we are going to be late. So we started by opening my presents from my wonderful family, which is pretty hard when you have a very lively two month old kicking in your lap.

After opening all the presents, we finally mobilized and left the apartment. As soon as we got in the car, Todd asked me to close my eyes. After a drive of less than five minutes we stepped outside and Todd lead me to a place with my eyes closed. I never realized how hard it is to walk with your eyes closed completely relaying on someone else without any idea what are you stepping on or where are you headed. Anyway we entered a place where I could hear people’s voices but it was not a restaurant. Imagine my surprise when he asked me to open my eyes and I found my self in a bike shop, and in front of me was a beautiful green hybrid bike with a red bow on top of it. I was so happy I wanted to get on it immediately but quiet challenging because of my high heels and short dress. But Todd would have not been Todd if he hasn’t thought of everything, so there lay my flat walking shoes. I did not take the bike for a ride but I did sit on it. I loved it and am eagerly waiting for the weekend to test in on the trails around DC.

Afterwards we had a most delicious dinner in one of the DC best restaurants, Nora for what they call organic meal. The food was delicious, the companions wonderful. Adrian was enjoying the attention of all staff and just sat there content playing with his hands.

Warm Weather Finally Arrives

Beginning of Spring, marked with a first visit to the zoo and arboretum with our little 11 week old. Apparently he prefers to sleep in the open air vs trying to spot the little (and big) animals in the pens. Although he did seem a little bit freaked out by the fish that could have swallowed him in one piece.

We also met our favorite family to go for a hike in the Arboretum. Sam (3) lead the way with both daddies carrying Alex (9 months) and Adrian. Was a great time catching up on all things baby while seeing how everyone was doing. Can't wait for more outings.

And of course our Adrian play shots and he is growing up and smiles and cooes all the time. We even tried a little bit of (assisted) walking).
